Introduction to Public Speaking & Communication equips students with the fundamentals of compelling communication and speech, giving them the skills they need to express themselves effectively in a wide range of situations. Students will explore key principles of verbal and nonverbal communication, while sharpening their collaborative and active listening skills. They’ll examine both informative and persuasive speech styles, learning how these translate into the digital media they navigate every day. By analyzing how tools like social media, podcast, video content, and online messaging influence modern communication, students will build critical thinking skills to engage in digital discourse responsibly. They’ll also gain hands-on experience in public speaking, group discussions, and media literacy to prepare for real-world settings and communication challenges. By the end of the course, students will be confident communicators who can craft, adapt, and deliver their message effectively across personal, academic, and professional contexts.
