This course provides students an opportunity to comprehend fundamental themes in history, geography, and economics that explain the development of the United States as a nation. Units include World War II, The Rise of the Cold War, Civil Rights, Domestic Conflict and Change, and America in the Modern World. Students will learn critical-thinking skills by examining how our history has affected relationships between the United States and other nations and among the branches of government, levels of government, and groups of citizens here at home. Students explore diversity in American culture and the democratic values which unify the nation.
Semester 2 - CLASSES THAT ARE 1/2 CREDIT (1/2 CREDIT = 1 SEMESTER), BOTH SEMESTERS ARE NEEDED IN ORDER TO FULFILL THE YEAR CREDIT. (Generally taken as a 10th grader)
